  1951 Was told never get into service because of eyesight, was drafted out of high school into Korean War. Went to Fort Mead, Maryland was to be a guide to discharge from GI’s from Europe for 9 months did not go to basic training. Got three stripes in just 9 months then went to Fort McClelland for basic. Went to Fort Mason, San Francisco to load troop ships, did not go overseas because he had too much time in.
