Enlisted when he was 17 in 1945 Fort Hayes, had two brothers in Army and one brother in Navy. Went to Philippines in September 1945 with 3,000 men. Became a ships cook for the Philippines for 23 months. Then assigned AKA out of San Francisco for the rest of his service.
