Citation for Combat Infantryman Badge reads: On 15 September 2011 at approximately 1630 Local, an unknown number of insurgents engaged a combined US / Afghan patrol with small arms, machine gun, and rocket propelled grenade fire. Upon identifying the location of the enemy force, Staff Sergeant Rowe returned fire, killing at least one insurgent and wounding another. Contact ceased with no battle damage to US forces to report. |
