Molly, you can get your photos from your computer to the website by uploading them through the MyWarHistory interface. First you have to sign up for a free account, then you login. Once you login you can either add the pictures to your WarBuff profile or add the pictures to a service hero that you have created.

If you want to add them to your profile then click on the PROFILE link near the top left of the screen. The bottom item listed in the MENU is "MyWarHistory Pictures", next to it click on "Add/Edit/Delete", then type a DESCRIPTION of your pictures then CLICK on BROWSE, this is where you actually do the uploading. Locate the file on your computer and select it. Once you click OK then you can click "ADD PICTURE" and your DONE. The picture is now uploaded to the website. Hope that helps.

Molly, the best way to get the photos from a scrap book to your computer is to scan them. Now do not be afraid, this is not as hard as it sounds. First you need a scanner hooked up to your computer, if you are unfamiliar with scanning give a call to someone you know who is the "local computer expert." If the pictures can be safely removed from the scrap book then this is the best way to do it. Just put the pictures in the scanner and press the scan button, you will want to save the pictures in a JPG format which is typically the default setting. If you cannot remove the pictures from the scrapbook then you need a flat bed scanner. Carefully open the scrap book and lay it on the scanner, press the SCAN button and this is where will you will have to do some work. You will need to crop the scrap book pages to get each individual picture which is more complicated.

There is always the poor man's scanner which I use sometimes. Take a picture of the picture with your digital camera and upload it to your computer. This is very easy but a lot of times the quality can be lost.
